Broadcast Work History: Started in Radio at age15
in 1971 as a parttime disc jockey on air at KATQ in
Texarkana. Began engineering repairs at KNBO New
Boston, Texas as we had no engineer. Hired as an
engineer by KCMC in Texarkana in 1974. Worked as an
announcer and engineer in the Texarkana Market until
taking a job as engineer at KYKS Lufkin, and was
transferred to Jackson, Mississippi, as Engineer for
WSLI AM, and WYYN FM. In1985 took a job as Engineer
for KTBB AM, AND KNUE, FM. Hired by Sungroup radio
in 1987 and worked projects in several Markets
including the Engineer of KAFE, and KKSS
Albuquerque/Santa Fe, New Mexico, KYKX in Longview,
Texas, WKXX, Birmingham, Alabama, Wichita Falls,
Texas, KEAN, KSLI, KORQ, KYYW, KULL, and KEYJ in
Abilene, Texas, as Engineer and as Operations
Manager until 2005. Left radio and worked in
contractor material sales in College Station for
McCoy’s Building Materials. Began work for Broadcast
Works in 2007.
Most Notable Work Experience or Projects with
details of accomplishments:
Located, renovated studios, moved KKSS Santa Fe 60
miles to Albuquerque in 1987 with no lost air time.
Combined 6 stations in Abilene under one roof.
Assisted in the installation of digital studios and
new 100.7 transmitter site for KLTY in Dallas.
Assisted in the installation of the 1600’ WACO FM
transmitter installation near Temple. Multiple
transmitter and studio installations in a number of
markets. Assisted in the planning and execution of
the Satellite Upgrade of Texas State Network
communicating with stations, installation of new
receiver dishes and receivers.
