History

Broadcast Works was founded in 1994 to help meet the changing technical needs of broadcasters. In those days, radio & television ownership laws were relaxed by the government and broadcast stations were allowed to consolidate. This changed the technical landscape and the role of a full time Chief Engineer. Many times became more than one person could handle. In other cases the engineering needs were outsourced. Broadcast Works was able to compliment or supplement the broadcaster’s engineering needs beginning in North East Texas and expanding as the company grew.

As time and technology advanced, Broadcast Works employed more engineers with diverse skill sets to accommodate the growing needs of broadcasters. Engineers and technicians with specialties in AM transmitters, FM Transmitters, Television, Studio Design and Construction, Computer Automation and Short Wave were brought on board to meet the demands of the broadcast industry. Broadcast Works grew by expanding its service area into nearby states and taking on project work nationwide.

Today broadcasting is changing even more to embrace new delivery methods such as Mobile Devices, Satellite, and of course the Internet. Broadcast Works is expanding service into these new areas including Internet Radio, Audio / Video and Commercial Sound. Many of the same skill sets used in broadcasting apply to these and other technologies. We truly live in amazing times with new opportunities around every corner.
